Volunteer and be Eligible for Prizes!

Every convention needs volunteers, and we're no different!  Please volunteer and hour or two of your time during the convention and help make it a great experience for everyone.  You may sign up at the volunteer table, or sign up early using the on-line sign-up page!

Plus, everyone who volunteers will be eligible for some cool stuff!

Registration for DemiCon

Preregistration for DemiCon is over. Please purchase your membership at the convention.  Remember to bring your Photo ID so you can pick up your badges. If you do not have your photo ID, we can not give you your badge to attend DemiCon.  

You can purchase your DemiCon Memberships at the door. There will be weekend rates, day rates, Explorer Passes and Explorer Plus Passes.  

At-the-door registration 

$60.00 weekend adult (full con access) 

$25.00 weekend child 5 to 12 years of age (full con access), must be accompanied by an adult
Free for children 4 and under (full con access), must be accompanied by an adult
    

These one-day rates are full access for ages 5 and above, and expire at midnight:

$30 Friday
$40 Saturday 
$20 Sunday (free if you purchase DemiCon 26's early registration)

Children 4 and under are free.

Explorer Pass for Friday or Saturday:  $20

One day only, expiring at midnight.

Same membership rate applies to all ages 5 and above.

May only purchase one during the weekend, but may upgrade.

Not allowed on 5th floor.

Explorer Plus Pass:  $45 

Valid for the entire weekend.

Same membership rate applies to all ages 5 and above.

Not allowed on 5th floor.

The deepest voice in Iowa fandom!

This is Denny's 40th year of con-going (40/70 = 0.57 Rusties)!  He's been reading SF since the 1950s, and was surprised that Sputnik was such a big deal ("Whadya mean, this is the first one?!).

Movies became important enough to him in the 1960s for him to major in film. A long run of SF and Horror titles on campus put him in contact with other fans, who eventually started SFLIS (the Science Fiction League of Iowa Students, not the disease!), ICON, the Mindbridge Foundation and eventually. Demicon.

18 years of work in film and educational TV led to his current career as a High School computer and drafting teacher. His collection of various things has taken over 4 rooms in his house, including stuff that Forry Ackerman hadn't seen before. His wife is a retired Master Gardener; his daughter is in Costume Management at Disney World and his son is a US Marine in North Carolina. Grandpa status will arrive this summer. Current count on movies: 22,350 since 1970.
