We have the following positions available:

ConSuite Host- Maintains the ConSuite, functions as Badger, ensuring all in the room are convention members. Moderate mobility, moderate sociability. Responsible to ConSuite Department Head (Susan Stewart).

Consuite Power clean- Involves getting up very early to thoroughly clean the ConSuite so it is ready for another day. Moderate mobility, moderate sociability. Inappropriate for those who snarl before 10am in the morning. Responsible to ConSuite Department Head or ConSuite Host (still Susan Stewart).

Badger/Watcher/Assistants- Involves sitting at the entry to a room and observing that all who enter are convention members. In the Art Show a watcher will also check bags of attendees. Low mobility, moderate sociability. Responsible to Department Head of area to which you are assigned. Badgers working in the ConSuite after 9pm will preferably be 18 or over, but it is not an absolute requirement. Responsible to ConSuite Department Head or ConSuite Host (did I mention Susan Stewart?).

Bartender- Involves mixing drinks for convention members, verifying age of those drinking alcohol provided by the convention. Some experience helpful. High mobility (able to stand for long periods of time) and high sociability. Responsible to ConSuite Bar Host (This time, Al Hohrmann).

Dealer's room Gopher- Involves running errands for dealers. May include getting snacks, helping with loading/unloading product, briefly watching a table so the dealer can investigate the plumbing, finding the Dealer's Room Department Head if a dealer needs to speak with him. Moderate-High mobility, moderate-high sociability). Responsible to Dealer’s Room Head (Sallie Abba)

Data Entry- Need ability to type quickly and accurately. Will be needed in Art Show and Registration. (Art Show Head- Heather McBride, Registration Head still Tammy Mohning, unless she’s run screaming in terror from the Con).

Staff- Involves a serious case of helium hand. You will wear a "Staff" ribbon, and will be considered fair game for "Hey, you- could you please do this?" at any point all weekend. You may have any mobility or sociability level- you will simply have to let the person asking for help know if it is something beyond your abilities, whether it is because you have physical limitations or because they are asking after you have been up for 36 hours straight. You can prevent this second occurrence by observing Passavoy’s Law, mentioned previously in the How to Sign up Link.

For more information on any of these positions, or to sign up, please see the buttons above, or e-mail the Volunteer Department Head at volunteers@demicon.org. or use the form below.

NOTE:
The Volunteer Department is not placing Security volunteers or Ranger Volunteers. Rangers are placed by the ConCom and the Security Department Head is personally scheduling the security volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for security, contact the security department head at security@demicon.org.

The Masquerade is also staffing its own positions. If you are interested in helping with Masquerade, please e-mail them at masquerade@demicon.org.)

Prior to the convention, this was a form allowing you to contact the appropriate department head.
