We are a not for profit, 100 percent fan run convention that is put on by the Des Moines Science Fiction & Fantasy Society. We are very different (much better!) than large, corporate conventions. What is the theme for DemiCon 36?
Our theme this year is FANtasy — a celebration of all the fans that make fan run conventions like ours a success.
Attendees might go on a fan-centric fantasy adventure, attend a fan painting workshop, or even encounter some fan dancers.
You are sure to have a FANtastic time!
Important dates and deadlines
All times are US Central Time. We’ll update this list as new deadlines are published.
| February 1, 2025 | Application deadline to be a vendor in the Dealers’ Room. |
| March 15, 2025 | Deadline for panel and other programming submissions. |
| March 31, 2025 | Program book submission deadline (e.g. advertising space purchased, etc.). |
| April 1, 2025 | Discounted registration ends and price for a convention membership increases to full price. |
| April 9, 2025 | Hotel room block closes. Now you must fight muggles for hotel rooms. |
| April 20, 2025 | Online registration closes. You can still register, but now you’ll need to do it at the door. |
| April 30, 2025 | “Must be received by” date for artists mailing their art to DemiCon. |

No shipping is available. Shirts will be available for pickup at the DMSFFS Table, located in the Art Show, during the convention May 2-4, 2025.
