DemiCon is hosted by the Des Moines Science Fiction & Fantasy Society.
The Des Moines Science Fiction & Fantasy Society, INC (DMSFFS) is an non-profit charity 501(c)(3) organization located in Des Moines, Iowa. It is entirely volunteer run.
DMSFFS strives to inspire individuals and communities to READ, IMAGINE AND THINK; creating a better world through education and support of literacy, science and the arts.
There are a number opportunities for you to support our vision.
Give financially
Each year we select a charity or cause to raise money for throughout DemiCon weekend. The money raised comes from activities like the charity art auction. Fans and other groups also help raise money.
This year we’ve added an option for you to donate to the DemiCon charity through our Square account, as well as the option for you to generally support DMSFFS community events and education initiatives.

We are always looking for help. If you want to volunteer before the convention, contact concom@demicon.org.

Donate blood
At the 34th World Science Fiction Convention in 1976 author Robert Heinlein organized a blood drive that would become a tradition at many science fiction conventions.
For many years DemiCon has participated in this tradition, inviting the LifeServe Blood Center to join us on Saturday of the convention so that our attendees can make blood donations.
