Aye, Filk? What be filk?

One way t' describe filk is as music parody (a la Weird Al). Another way is t' think o' your fa'orite folk song, and then try t' sin' it out loud in front o' your friends. Most o' what we call "filk" consists o' parodies, SCA songs, folk or Celtic songs, silly songs, as well as whate'er songs people be wantin' t' share. Verily narrows it down, doesn't it?

We'll be havin' lots o' filkin' at Demicon, mostly run in a "Bardic circle" format. In this e'eryone gets a turn whar you can choose t' sin' a song yourself, call a tune for the rapscallions t' sin', or pass your turn. This way e'eryone gets t' participate and good times will be had by all!

In addition, we'll be ha'in' fun with "instant filk", gar! Come share your ideas, rhymes and creati'e energies in helpin' us write a song parody in about an hour.
