Volunteers: Convention Signup
DemiCon 18: May 18-20, 2007
VOLUNTEER SIGNUP AT THE CONVENTION:
On Friday there will be a volunteer sign up station right next to registration. After Friday night, the volunteer grid and sign up information will move to The Gopher Hole. We will provide a handy -dandy volunteer sheet that should be fairly self explanatory.
Look at the volunteer grid and see what appeals to you. Cross check it against the program grid so if you really want to attend TICC’s musical version of Faulkner’s “As I Lay Dying,” you don’t double book yourself.
As an added help, if you signed up for either a programming item or a volunteer shift before the convention, there should be a label on the back of your badge that contains your schedule as of the time the badges were put together. When you have all the details worked out, write your name in on the squares that coordinate with the shift and position that you are interested in working on the Main Program Grid. Pencils will be available, so that if you discover that you cannot fulfill your commitment your name can be erased so someone else can take that shift. Then write down your shifts on the volunteer sheet and carry it around with you as you do your volunteer shifts. Have the head of the department you are volunteering for sign in the appropriate space to verify that you have worked the shifts. If you drop in for a shift you will get credit as well. These sheets will help us ensure that the special things we have available to our volunteers only get used/eaten/played with by our volunteers.
There will be a room called the Gopher Hole that will be available to anyone who volunteers at the convention. Come before or after your volunteer shifts to hang out and get volunteer goodies.
