Guest of Honor - Theresa Mather

DemiCon 18: May 18-20, 2007

Ever since I saw her first piece of Art I have been a fan of Theresa Mather. I have loved dragons and animals and nature for years. She has wonderful techniques for making them come to life on stones and feathers as well as on canvas. She and her husband Barry, live in Utah's "Standing Up country". Being near Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park and Capital Reef National Park she has much inspiration for her artistry.

As a prior Art Show department head I have been a lurker in a sci-fi and fantasy yahoo group that discusses all things artistic that Theresa is also a member of. I have been impressed with her business savvy and her compassion. She always has encouraging words and good advice for newer artists. I also (being mostly an admirer of art) was able to learn things from her that were important to know in running a convention Art Show.

Other fascinating work she has been involved with is restoration work done on carousels. Carousels she has worked on include: Chase Palm Park, Santa Barbara, California; Eastridge Mall, San Jose California; and Fairgrounds Square Mall, Reading, PA.

Bio available on Theresa Mather’s website (http://www.rockfeatherscissors.com/) here)
