Submitted for your approval, DemiCon 17 brings to you, this years Ghost of Honor, Rod Serling. Rodman Edward Serling was born on Christmas Day, 1924, in Syracuse, New York and grew to be an Emmy Award winnng writer for television. Not only was he a writer, but a daredevil, boxer and Purple Heart recipient for service in the South Pacific during WW II. Several episodes of his signature TV series "The Twighlight Zone" were spawned from his experiences during the war.
Serling sold his first script, "Grady Everett for the People", in 1949. His talents continued through the "Twilight Zone" (1959-1965), "The Night Gallery" (1970-1973) and several screen plays, including "Planet of the Apes" (1968). Alas, the creative pen of this pioneer of the Golden age of Television stopped in 1975 when Serling died during open heart surgery. Join us in the celebration of this prolific writer and television genius.
