Programming Highlights
The schedule is taking shape. There are some wonderful items planned. Here are a few highlights.

DemiCon 16 Blood Drive - DemiCon is pleased to announce it's first Blood Drive in conjunction
with the Heinlein Society and The Blood Center of Central Iowa.
This is our chance to "Pay it Forward". We hope to make this an
annual event so please help us be successful by donating blood.
You can view the eligibility requirements or signup to donate at
the Iowa Blood Center .

Signup will also be available at the convention.

Workshops and Limited Attendance Panels
- Cell Painting: Learn about and paint your own Anime-type
Cel. Attendance is limited to 15 persons.
- Kanji Writing: Learn the basics of writing Japanese
Kanji. Attendance is limited to persons 10-17 years of age.
- An Hour with Brad Linaweaver: Spend an hour with our
Author Guest. Attendance is limited to 12 people.
- Vogon Poetry contest: Write poetry like the Vogon's.
Participants have until 6PM Saturday to sign up for this contest.
You will get the opportunity to read your poetry for our judges.
Prizes will be awarded.
- Create your own Sci Fi/Fantasy Light Switch Plate:
Participants will have an opportunity to create a light switch
plate for their house. Single switch plates and many pictures to
choose from will be provided to the participants or you can provide
your own picture (something out of a magazine or a calendar works well,
but not a photograph). The cost will be $1.00 per attendee to
recoop costs for materials for the workshop. Attendence
is limited to 20 people.

Boffo Friday - Our local Boffo fanatics present a panel on fighting with Boffo swords. Audience participation is optional.

Family friendly filk Panel - Join Dave Reed, Robert Uy and Diane Dunlap on Saturday for Filk for all ages.

“Rum by Gum” - This years alternative to Martini Wars will be held in the "ConSuite at the End of the Universe."
