DemiCon Costume Contests - Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I still get a Hall Costume Ribbon?
YES! All entrants in the Hall Costume Contest receive a Hall Costume participant ribbon to wear for the rest of the weekend. And now you won't have to worry about a judge finding you.
  • Is there paperwork for the Hall Costume Contest?
Yes. There will be a very short form for your name, badge number and entry name for the Hall Contest. Forms will be with the judges and will also help them remember you and your costume.
  • Do I have to be competing in the Hall Costume Contest to have my photo taken?
No, you may have your photo taken without entering the Hall Costume Contest.
  • Will my photo be posted on-line somewhere?
Yes! The Hall and Masquerade photos will be posted on a website that allows you to order prints.
  • What else do you do with the photos?
We show the Hall Costume Photos on the BIG screen during the Masquerade halftime so everybody can ooh and ahh!
  • Can I compete my Hall Costume in the Masquerade on Saturday night?
The DemiCon Masquerade rules do not allow this. Please choose which costume you want to enter in which contest. Once you run your costume in the Hall contest, it is ineligible for the Formal Masquerade.
  • Are there prizes? What are they?
Yes! There are spiffy prizes. Both the Hall Costume Contest and Masquerade award custom etched glass trophies that magically double as drinking vessels!

    It's a trophy. It's a mug. It's a vase. It's a candle holder. No, it's a... hey wait, what is that thing?
