Hotel - Skywalk

DemiCon 16: July 29-31, 2005

The Des Moines skywalk system links many locations throughout downtown Des Moines with a network of clear tunnels. It's kinda like a habitrail for people. Anyway, you can use this skywalk system to get from the hotel to various restaurants or other places of interest. While many of them are closed during the weekend, we do have a list of those that will be open.

Klingon Snail

As you know, the Pleistocene Snail (Discus qaplahki) having been seeded to a planet with a harsh environment, and having evolved violent and warlike with ridges, has now returned to Earth. They have taken control of their former habitat (downtown Des Moines), and they now patrol the streets: ravaging, pillaging and giving hickeys to all the fair damsels. This is the unsung reason that the City of Des Moines built the skywalk system and it serves as an important protection for us soft humans.

But, as all beings evolve there are always mutations. A sect of our favorite critters have evolved to have a peace-loving geneome and have begun to see how much fun the humans are to party with. This sect of snails (Discus Particus Animas) has evolved to have a much softer countenance and have been able to slip through the rigid protections of the sky walk. You may see them any day filking along the skywalk and they have been invited to join us at DemiCon (for the registration price of course.) They have volunteered to take care of our snail-mail for DemiCon16. So do be careful where you walk around the hotel, as we do not want any of our new found friends to come to any harm.

Prior to the convention, this was a form allowing you to contact the appropriate department head.
